Hand injuries are a significant and usually preventable source of incidents. According to one widely-reported OSHA study, more than a quarter of all workplace injuries involve hands or fingers and the cost of a hand injury can reach $26,000. What’s more, most of the time, the worker wasn’t even wearing protective gloves.
There is a new resource to help companies make sure workers are using the right hand protection and to help train workers on the major problems that a seemingly minor slip of the hand can cause. It is called Choose Hand Safety and you can access its website information here.
